The Iconic Puzzle Game Wouldn't Triumph at This Gaming Ceremony — Another Award Type May Address This Issue

Each time a major awards ceremony draws close, one notices an outcry for the addition additional classifications to acknowledge underappreciated efforts and delight the spirits of followers who have specialized interests.

A fellow writer made the case advocating for terror-themed awards. That would rule. So would strategy board titles, which is a passionate advocate's mission. But they will have to forgive me for pushing forward since similar to dedicated enthusiasts, I possess a compelling case supporting my request stands as crucial and significant. Here's the proposal: It's essential to create an award type for logic-based games.

Organizing Gaming Categories

Categorizing art by genre isn't exact; it’s very subjective, and inevitably spark debates concluding with vague boundaries. This explains why film award organizations don’t do it. Yet it remains an unavoidable compromise for the industry of interactive entertainment, which are so diverse they barely qualify one unified medium.

To recognize the complete range of interactive entertainment excellence to receive acknowledgment, and for games of all stripes to have a chance for representation, specific award classifications remain vital.

Existing Game Classification System

Prominent interactive entertainment events currently feature award types recognizing Action, Adventure-action titles, Role-Playing, Fighting, Simulation and strategy titles, plus athletic and racing experiences. Collectively, these six categories successfully include a lot of ground, making space possible accommodating various experiences.

Not so for puzzle games. No suitable classification appears for their placement. Examine these examples from outstanding current releases, showing diverse approaches: the architectural riddles in a particular game, intense tile-matching in a different title, and the sweetly sociological logic puzzles from additional release. Where could they possibly go among existing types? Simply put, no category fits.

Acknowledgment Issues

Numerous examples exist of brilliant puzzle games published annually lacking appropriate categories at major award shows, unless they happen to qualify classification types such as Handheld titles, VR/AR Game, or the extremely competitive small studio competitions.

  • A renowned logic title received no recognition completely in 2014
  • Another imaginative release received no nominations that year
  • A beloved organization game received no acknowledgment that year
  • Limited numbers of puzzle games barely qualified for small studio or handheld classifications

Value of Brain-Teasers

Commonly they're compact experiences, yet the craft of the puzzle game is of massive significance. Well-known matching games stand as most popular titles worldwide continuing this trend for an extended period.

The famous puzzle experience challenges well-known building titles competing to become best-selling game of all time; it also contends for best game of all time. Logic titles represent cornerstones to the art of video games, and they are in conversation across multiple categories.

The Solution and Justification

Logic titles wouldn't face such difficulty. It would be easy to populate a field of five interesting, varied, worthy titles every year with ease — perhaps, with difficulty, since numerous excellent so many good games out.

And to reiterate, these are games that otherwise have no home in important events. Logic title developers function at the hard edge game development, producing among essential manifestations within interactive entertainment. Just like movie stunt professionals, they deserve recognition. We shouldn't delay 35 years.
